Email supportCommon questions
How do I connect my bank account?
Go to Dashboard → Documents → Import from bank. You'll be redirected to your bank's own login screen to authorise read-only access via Open Banking — an FCA-regulated standard. You can disconnect at any time from Settings → Connected banks.
Are my HMRC submissions final once sent?
Quarterly updates are cumulative — each Q2 submission includes Q1 plus Q2 data, so corrections can be made by submitting a later quarter. Your annual Final Declaration, however, is irreversible once accepted by HMRC. Varro will warn you before any final declaration.
Does Varro store my bank login?
No. Open Banking never exposes your bank password to Varro or any third party. You authorise read-only access directly at your bank, and the access tokens we receive are encrypted at rest. You can revoke access at any time from your bank's app or from Varro's Settings page.
Is AI categorisation reliable for tax purposes?
Varro's AI categorisation is a suggestion, not advice. You review and confirm every transaction before it is used in a submission. The system is conservative — only high-confidence matches against our verified merchant catalogue are auto-confirmed. Anything the model is unsure about is flagged for your review.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access until then. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you also have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase.
How do I delete my account and data?
Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, transactions, documents, and bank-connection tokens. HMRC submission records are retained for 5 years as required by HMRC MTD rules.
Where is my data stored?
On encrypted, UK/EU-region infrastructure. Financial data is protected at rest and in transit, access is locked down at the database row level so one user's data is never visible to another, and only HMRC receives the figures you explicitly submit.
